Loyal holders of precious metals say they're tangible commodities that keep their intrinsic value. Investing in commodities like gold or silver keeps your portfolio balanced, proponents say. So when the value of the Dollar decreases, at least part of your portfolio will retain its value, despite the deflation. That's why ETFs/Paper is risky if you need to cash out, stick with hard assets

Well said, I hate the paper promise when the day comes in some emergency to honour your contract. Zipo :(

Paper please, there isn't enough gold in the world to back all the paper that has been issued as a derivative of it. Physical gold and silver is an extreme situation hedge. Trading paper gold or silver is for speculative purposes only I fell. I do both but know of the risks involved with any asset. Surely as someone who trades futures, you would know that fat tail events have a habit of happening more frequently than what models claim them to be.

Good the Poll debate format, clearly Bars are cheap and make sound investment with no hard work, just hard dollars to swap.

Gold was worth more cause it is desired more because it looks more beautiful , I'm all for silver but please stop overrationalizing and denaturlizing because that is what communists and socialists usualy do, not clear minded straight forward people who actualy build and get stuff. So clearly gold looks better and has a more brutal affect on us and thus is worth more, quantity isn't that important at all.

Silver is definitely the way to go! Since 2012, JP Morgan has been stockpiling millions of ounces of physical silver... It's grown from 5 million ounces to 55 million ounces in just over 3 years!! Cleary someone at JP Morgan knows silver is a great investmest!
