Elizabeth 1st 1568 three pence

Hi all new to the group, thought i would start by showing one of my hammered silver coins, that i found metal detecting
Elizabeth 1st 1568 silver hammered Three pence

No mate not in $, as it does look great, the coin is only in vf grade and the book price might not be reached, for a good coin it would have to be rare to get a great price

Where did you find your coin? I owned something similar a few years ago, small world. Lost it but :oops:

Very nice, looks like a sixpence, looking at the folds in it, it was a love token ( folded into a Z or S) which was then given to someone's sweetheart.
Shame you lost it mate, nice looking Elizabeth Ist silver coin

Hi Thornside, glad you enjoyed the information, when something like this comes up the feeling of holding something that no-one has held for a few hundred years is a great feeling mate

Hi Thornside, glad you enjoyed the information, when something like this comes up the feeling of holding something that no-one has held for a few hundred years is a great feeling mate


It just goes to show that there will always be interesting coins to find in the fields... I am an avid coin collector here in the states and a friend of mine has slowly been getting bits and pieces for me and sending them over from the UK. Keeping posting your finds, enjoy the historical side of collecting.
